Quiznos Sets up it first flagship store at
Hyderabad|India: USA based
Quiznos, one of the largest Sub Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) chains in
the world with over 4000 stores in over 35 countries forays into the
Indian market. The first Flagship store of Quiznos in India has
opened in Filmnagar, Hyderabad on 26th August 2011. Quiznos, the pioneer of
the toasted subs and one of the largest quick service restaurant chains
for subs, salads, pizza, desserts and soups worldwide plans to open 10
stores by the end of the year, in the cities of Bangalore, Chennai and
Hyderabad, and 30 by the end of 2012 informed Mr. Lee Vala, International
Chief Development Officer, Quiznos, USA. Store menus in India will feature
Quiznos' signature toasted subs and flatbread sammies, as well as the
chef-inspired salads, pizzas and desserts for which Quiznos is known.
Addressing media at a press meet in city,Mr. Arjun Valluri, Chairman
of Apollo Elixirs Pvt. Ltd. said that Quiznos has signed a master
franchise agreement with Apollo Elixirs Pvt. Ltd. for Southern India, Goa
and Sri Lanka. The first Flagship store of Quiznos in India is all set to
open in Film Nagar, Hyderabad followed by the next two opening in
September at Inorbit Mall, Gachibowli and Infosys, Pocharam campus. We
will open upto ten outlets in Hyderabad in next one year he informed.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Lee Vala said that we are happy to associate
with Mr. Arjun Valluri, an experienced and successful franchisee who is
business savvy and knows the local market. Quiznos has generally enjoyed
success in Central and South America, and we are eager to try to replicate
that success in these new markets, he added. Over the next few years,
Quiznos plans to grow the brand’s international footprint to more than 40
countries and territories, with target markets in Central and South
America, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, he added.
India is a spring board. It is a diverse market. If we satisfy customers
in this market, we can satisfy customers in every other market, said Lee
Vala. Internationally we have drawn up very aggressive marketing and
expansion plans. We have already appointed a franchisee for North and West
India, Lee Vala informed.
Adding further Mr. Mohit Mathur, CEO of Quiznos India said in all together
we offer 30 products to our customers through these chain of restaurants.
The menu will also include some local favorites, such as Lamb Seekh Sub,
Chicken/Veg Manchurian Subs, Tandoori Chicken Sub, Paneer Tikka sub, Aloo
Corn Spinach Tikki Sub. As there is a strong customer preference towards
hot food in India, Quiznos toasted sandwiches and unmatched quality make
the brand a clear and compelling fit for this market.
Our range of products start from Rs 50 for a Sammi and will go upto Rs
325/- for Premium Sandwich, he informed. We have two kinds of restaurants
viz Special Venue Restaurants(SVR) and Full restaurant. SVR kind of
restaurants are set up Malls. We even plan to set up outlets in
educational institutions where students strength is above 10,000, he
Mr. Mohit Mathur further stated that India with the young population’s
growing affinity toward international brands and willingness to try out
new things, Quiznos is sure to tantalize the taste buds of Indians. There
will also be some local customization of the menu, including new custom
sauces and dressings reflecting the flavours of traditional Indian
cuisine, Indian grains incorporated into the bread and a broader variety
of vegetarian selections. The locations in India will also offer coffee
and yogurt to round out the menu and provide a complete dining experience
typical of local customer preferences.
