Hyderabad geared up for Ramzan festival

Hyderabad|India|July'2012: Chief Minister Sri N. Kiran Kumar Reddy while reviewing the ensuing Ramzan festival arrangements at Jubilee Hall directed the Principal Secretary to Government Municipal Administration & Urban Development Mr.Sham Bob to convene a periodical meeting for every 3 days to identify and redress the problems of Electricity, Water and Sanitation etc. in the entire state during Ramzan festival.

The Chief Minister has also informed the meeting that regular patrolling will be conducted in all sensitive areas and instructions were issued to all the Superintendents of Police of respective districts to put extra vigil as a part of crime prevention during Ramzan festival.

He directed the Heads of Departments of Power, Water supply, Municipal Administration and Civil Supplies to take up all out measures to supply un interrupted power and provide water during the prayer hours.

The Chief Minister further directed the Roads and Buildings Chief Engineer to provide mobile Generators and APTRANSCO mobile transformers to install as stand by measures in case of power shut down in areas like Charminar, Pattargatti and other commercial areas. He further said that all measures to be taken as was done in the previous years.

Mr. Akberuddin Owaisi, Floor Leader AIMIM stated that Police in Mafti has to be posted in commercial areas so as to enable people who go out for shopping after 10.30 pm and also requested to instruct shopkeepers to open the shops till late in the night to facilitate Muslim brother in for shopping. He also requested to instruct the Jail authorities to provide Iftar and Sahar to Muslim Jail inmates. Mr. Owaisi further said that to keep a fire tender at stand by at Moghalpura and Mir Alam Mandi as precautionary measure.

Smt. Sabitha Indra Reddy, Minister for Home responding to the suggestion said that instructions will be issued to all the Jails in the State to provide separate barrack for prayer and food arrangements for Saher and Iftar.

Mr. Afsar Khan, MLA Asifnagar requested to give suitable instructions to the Excise Dept for closing of liquor shops on time. He sighted an example of people drinking liquor at Mallepally Chowrasta. He further requested that liquor shops located near religious institutions had to be closed on scheduled time

Mohd Ali Rafat, Managing Director, A.P. Dairy Development Federation informed that additional milk will be supplied during Ramzan month in the entire state.

With regard to additional quota supply of Sugar, Wheat, Kirosine and Pamoline oil should be given atleaste during this Ramzan. Mr.Virasat Rasool Khan, MLA, Nampally has stated that no regular Chief Rationing Officer has been posted for the last 3 years. He also mentioned no new Rations shops have been opened for the 4 years.

Mr. Ameenul Hassan Jafri, MLC said that overloading of sub stations was creating problems and requested for uninterrupted power supply during Ramzan. He further stated that A.D.E of Charminar, Bandlaguda & Santhosnagar has to be retained up to Ramzan period.

Mr.Anurag Sharma, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad has stated that additional Bandobasth arrangements have been made additional forces are being deployed during Ramzan month and to mann Rakshabandan and Vinayaka Chaturdi. He also said that Peace Committies and Masjid Committees are touch with the Police Dept to maintain communal harmony.He also stated special arrangements have been taken up at Miralam, Edgah,

Mr Akberuddin Owaisi requested to steupup security arrangements in the entire state particularly Adoni and Sangareddy locations as precautionary measures. He also requested to provide skyting umbremmla atleast for next Ramzan to the muslim brotherin to protect from rain and sun while performing Namaz and Tarabi. He alsos requested to address a letter to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport GMR to provide a suitable places for Muslim passengers to perform Namaz.
