New CM holds review meeting with all important departments

The Chief Minister Mr N Kiran Kumar
Reddy after swearing in as CM held a detailed review meeting with all
important departments at Lake View Guest House. The Chief Minister said
top priority would be given to all welfare schemeses meant for the poor
and downtrodden and also common people and students. Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy
told the senior officials that there would not be any shortage of funds
for the welfare schemes and all loopholes in these schemes should be
plugged. He said the welfare schemes will be given top priority and will
be implemented sincerely. He also directed the officials that each and
every person or student who is eligible and deserving should get the
benefits out of the scheme, whether it is Arogyasri, Fee reimbursement,
Rs.2-a-kg rice scheme and free power for farmers.
The Chief Minister reviewed the functioning and various urgent issues
pertaining to Social Welfare, BC, SC, ST, Minorities Welfare, Fee
reimbursements, Agriculture, Power--both generation and supply, Finance
and Law and Order.
The Chief Minister also asked various departments to chalk out an action
plan to implement in Toto all the promises made in the Congress Party
Manifesto in the State during the 2009 elections. Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy
said that it was the duty of the government to fulfill its promises.
The Chief Minister also enquired about the agricultural production this
year, crop losses due to recent floods, fertiliser and seed supply, crop
loans and crop insurance to farmers, arrangements for procurement of paddy
from farmers, storage space being created, the steps being taken to
procure the discoloured paddy, power supply to farmers, power generation,
its demand and supply in the State etc.
Officials told the Chief Minister that though there were crop losses due
to floods and heavy rains in the last few months, agricultural production
will be good this year. Power officials informed him that power position
is satisfactory with very good hydel power generation as a result of very
good rains this year.
Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy was very particular about the Ration Cards issue and
told the Civil Supplies officials that the whole system should be improved
keeping in view the complaints from the common people and the Civil
Supplies Department should take steps to solve them without delay.
The Chief Minister also had a meting with the Finance Department top
officials who briefed Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy about the latest financial
situation and the fund requirements.
Special Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, HODs, DGP
and top police officials along with CMO officials attended the meeting.
