Hyderabad|India|December'2011: City’s Rockwell International
School celebrated its First Annual Day with great aplomb. On the occasion
of its first annual day, the school initiated the Guru Shishya Parampara
Award which will be given to the most deserving and inspiring Guru-Shishya
duo in different fields every year. The first such award by the school was
presented to the Guru-Shishya duo of Badminton Champion Pullela Gopichand
and P.V. Sindhu, National Badminton Player here at Brahma Kumaris Global
Peace Auditorium at Gachibowli during the Annual Day celebrations which
continued till late evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Subash Boda, the young Chairman and Managing
Director of Rockwell International School said that the Guru-Shishya
parampara is sacred and signifies the eternal bond between a teacher and a
student. The Rockwell International School wants to revive this long
ignored tradition and hence has initiated the award. The annual day
function was graced by Mr. Ajit Rangnekar and Mr. J.A. Chowdary, Chairman,
Talent Sprint and parents and family members of the students. Ms. Manija
Subrahmaniam, Principal gave the School Report.
The evening saw wonderful performances by the students dressed in
colourful dresses. Students from various grades took part in the Fusion
Dance which had an amalgamation of various dance forms such as
Bharatanatyam, Dandiya, etc. with a touch of comtemporary had the students
performing to the ‘Shree Ganeshaya Dheemahi’ song.
Flower Dance by PP1 and Cheer Dance by PP2 and Nursery students won the
hearts of the audience with their dazzling dance and great energy.
Performances by the cute tiny tots got a lot of appreciation from the
crowds. A short drama ‘The Gingerbread Girl’ was also staged by students
of various classes. Dragon Dance by students of Grades 2-5, Instrumental
Music by Grades 2-6 and Classical Kuchipudi Dance by Grades 2-6 were much
appreciated. The Grand Finale saw students of all the grades coming
together and performing and forming the logo of their school. All 103
students of the school took part in the activities.
