Hyderabad|India|December'2008: The Rotary family of Rotary International Dist. 3150 had the privilege to pay humble tribute to Gallant soldiers at Hotel Baseraa (Ohris) Secunderabad. Shri. Navin Mittal, IAS Collector & District Magistrate was the Chief Guest.

On the occasion Lt. Gen. MA Zaki, PVSM, AVSM, Vir Chakra (Retd), AVM C.V. Parker, Maha Vir Chakra , Vishist Seva Medal and Rtn. Dr. C. Sharat Babu, Dist. Governor, Rotary Dist. 3150 were the Guests of honour.


Rotarians and their spouses honoured Gallant Soldiers, Spouses of Martyrs and War Disabled with shawls, presentation kits, watches and specially carved mementoes .

Guest of Honour Lt.Gen. Zaki narrated his experience in army and after relinguishing his office in 1995 he was appointed Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia by the President Late Dr. Shanker Dayal Sharma. In January 2001 President of India awarded him Padmashri.

Guest of Honour AVM Parker narrated his experience of flying 22 types of aircrafts and was decorated with Maha Vir Chakra for individual acts of bravery in the face of enemy during 1971 Indo-Pak War.He had led many deep penetration missions into enemy held territory.He shot one Saber Jet and heavily damaged another. Also during one mission he attacked the enemy oil refinery in the face of anti-aircraft guns.

Guest of Honour Rtn. C. Sharat Babu spoke about the Rotary International and its activities in the service to humanity.
