Hyderabad|India|March'2011: Susmit Sen's first ever live solo performance in Hyderabad is on this Wednesday evening at the University Of Hyderabad campus (16 March, 8pm at the DST auditorium). Accompanying his performance will be a show by the Singing Sticks, an Indo-Chilean theatre-musical group.

Susmit Sen, as is well known, is a founding member of Indian Ocean, the pioneering Indian fusion music band which has definitively influenced popular music in the country for nearly three decades. As a genius with the guitar, Sen has built himself a reputation for innovating with the instrument and developing a unique style of music all his own, in an attempt to go beyond traditional and modern conventions. He is the artiste behind the band's signature guitar tunes.

The Singing Sticks Theatre Ensemble is a growing network of theatre performers, musicians, visual artists, circus artists, academicians, students and art lovers, from India and Chile. Bringing their different cultural and professional backgrounds and varied experiences together on stage, the group examines the challenges of a multiplicity of cultures in the world, critiquing its struggles, successes and failures through sensitive and humorous engagement. Openness, live improvisation and fun interaction with the audience mark their style.
