Taj Banjara Hosts Rajasthani Food Fest
Hyderabad|India|February'2010: Taj Banjara is hosting the
Rajasthani Food festival at its 24-hour coffee shop Waterside Café from
February 5 to 13, 2010.
Rajasthani cuisine is influenced by the extravagant lifestyle of the
Rajput and Brahmin inhabitants and the availability of ingredients in this
arid region. Rajasthanis relish ghee which is an integral part of many of
the preparations. The most famous dish would probably be Dal-Bati, which
is a spicy lentil with baked balls of wheat with lots of ghee. The variety
of sweet dishes is also immense and sweets are relished as much as the
spicy curries in Rajasthan.
Chef Chander Singh Rathore from Taj Hotels in Rajasthan has been
especially flown down to serve the Hyderabadis a taste of his authentic
Rajasthani specialties. He has 15 years of experience in the hospitality
industry in various Taj properties including Taj Lake Palace, Ummaid
Bhawan Palace and Taj Lands End. Chef Rathore has created some of the most
exotic dishes at the Liz Hurley and Arun Nair wedding in Ummaid Bhawan
Palace.
The Rajasthani food festival is the latest in many traditional &
innovative gourmets hosted by Taj Banjara. Earlier, they had organised
food festivals like Blast From the Past, Astro Dining, Wood Fire, Gourmet
Safari, Grandma’s Kitchen and Dadarbari etc.
The menu for the festival will include dishes like KHEECHIA, MURGH JAIL
KEBAB, LAAL MAAS, MACHLI METHI BAGAAR, HARI MIRCH KHATA, CHAKKI KA SAAG,
PANCH KUTA SAAG, CHURMA, MAKHI KA SOGRA, YAKHNI POLOUGH, KALEGI RAITHA,
JAHANGIRI MURG SHORBA, BHUINI MIRCH KA SHORBA, GALAFU SEEKH KEBABS, JHINGA
BALKAS RUBINA, JHINGE KA SALA and KACCHE YAKHANI DUM KI GOSHT BIRYANI.
The festival also offers a range of desserts like PISTA KULFI, RABARI KA
LADOO, JALABI WITH LACHA RABARI, DAAL BADAM CHAKKI and DAAL KA HALWA.
