U.S. Consulate General Opens for
Temporary Visitor Visa Interviews on March 27th
Hyderabad|India|March'2010: The U.S. Consulate General
Hyderabad has set aside Saturday, March 27, 2010, to receive applicants
for B1/B2 [Temporary Visitor] visas. Four hundred (400) appointments,
divided between English and non-English interviews, will be available.
Appointments will be available on the VFS website (www.vfs-usa.co.in.).
The process for taking an appointment and paying the fees is identical.
The Saturday appointments respond to an increase in demand for B1/B2 visa
appointments. “We know there is a great demand for these appointments
right now, and we want to do our best to serve the people of Andhra
Pradesh,” Consul General Cornelis M. Keur stated.
The Consul General also suggested travelers apply for their visas as early
as possible. Applicants who wait a few weeks before they want to travel
may run into unexpected delays in processing, and may end up missing their
trips.
As there is no parking near the Consulate General and limited facilities
for those arriving before their appointed time, applicants should plan
their travel to the Consulate General to arrive on time, rather than
several hours ahead. Additionally, as there are no suitable waiting areas
outside the Consulate General, applicants are encouraged to come alone.
Please note that the Consulate General does not permit the following
items: mobile phones, electronic personal digital assistants, cameras,
audio or video recording devices, lap top computers, thumb drives,
portable music players, remote keys, travel bags, back packs, brief cases,
suit cases, cosmetics (including but not limited to spray perfume/cologne
and talcum/baby powder), bottles of any kind, food items, liquids, and any
sealed envelopes or packages.
Security staff may prohibit other items you bring with you. The Consulate
General cannot store prohibited items for you. If you bring prohibited
items with you, you will have to dispose of them before entry.
