Hyderabad|India|January'2009: THAI UNION FROZEN PRODUCTS PCL.(TUF), parent of a leading Thailand based group of Companies, engaged in Shrimp Hatchery, shrimp/fish feed manufacturing and processing & export of frozen shrimp and canned tuna, has acquired 14.99% shares of AVANTI FEEDS LTD.(AFL), a leading Indian company engaged in shrimp/fish feed manufacturing and processing & export, as a strategic partner, to support AFL to expand its activities in India.

Mr.Tin-King-Chan, Director and General Manager of TUF, who joined AFL Board as a Director, said "TUF would extend technical and marketing support and share their expertise in shrimp culture with AFL for all-round growth of AFL. TUF joining AFL at this juncture, when Indian Government has permitted "Vannamei" culture in India, assumes great significance, as TUF has vast experience and expertise in Vannamei Hatchery, Feed and Culture. TUF will also support AFL in expanding AFL's processing and export market as TUF has large wholesale and retail net work in USA."
