The State and District toppers of Model EAMCET/ AIEEE/IIT - 2009 were
given away awards and merit certificates on 19th June. The Statewide Mega
Model EAMCET/AIEEE/IIT Mock Test was jointly conducted by Andhra Jyothi &
JP Print Systems P. Ltd. in the months January to April 2009. This is the
fourth year of the awards started in the year 2006. Cumulatively cash
awards worth Rs 20 lakh are distributed ever since inception of the
awards. This year cash awards worth Rs 6.35 lakh are presented to
meritorious students from across the state who topped in the Mega Model
EAMCET/AIEEE/IIT Mock Test. A total of 38,000 students appeared in the
Model EAMCET test conducted at 300 centres across Andhra Pradesh.8,000
students wrote the Model AIEEE test, while 5000 appeared for the Model IIT
test.
These awards are the rewards for excellence. They encourage students to
strive hard for better performance, informed Mr. Vemuri Radhakrishna, MD
of Andhra Jyothi.
It is proven beyond doubt over the years that these toppers also emerged
toppers in actual EAMCET. The top ranks of Model EAMCET 2006 & 2007, 2008
matched with the results of EAMCET 2006 & 2007, 2008 very closely. This
year will be no exception. The 2009 toppers of Model tests will also match
EAMCET entrance results which will be announced sometime later this month,
informed Mr. Mathews Peter, Chairman and Managing Director of J.P. Print
Systems Pvt. Ltd.
Stating further Mr. Mathews added that the Model Test conducted jointly by
both the organisations has become a bench mark exam. They were the
pioneers. Now the same is being copied. The tests have aroused tremendous
interest in the community. Students and parents look forward to the Model
Tests conducted by them each year. As it is conducted with service motto,
the exam has impacted students, he said.
The state toppers in the Engineering stream include first ranker C. Siva
Kumar Kashyap (Open Centre, Kukatpally, Hyd); second rank holder J.
Krishna (New Wave Jr. College, Khammam), third rank holder M. Dheeraj
Kumar (Sri Chaitanya Jr. Kalasala, Anantapur) and others. In the Medical
stream the honours were won by Santosh Swaminathan (Sri Chaitanya Jr.
Kalasala, Narayanguda); second rank holder A. Sai Ram (Narayana Medical
Intensive Academy, Kothapet), third rank holder G. Bala Aditya (Sri
Vishnavi Medical Academy, Nizampet Road) and others. Ten toppers each from
Engineering and Medical streams were given awards. Cash awards of Rs.
50,000/-, Rs. 30,000/-, Rs. 20,000/- along with certificates were
presented to State 1st Rank, 2nd Rank, 3rd Rank holders respectively.
Fourth to tenth rank holders were presented with cash award of Rs.10,000/-
each and certificates. In addition to these District Toppers from 23
districts both in Engineering and Medical Streams were given away cash
award of Rs. 5,000/- each and certificates.
In Model IIT also cash awards of Rs.15,000/-, and Rs.10,000/- were
presented to the 1st and 2nd Rank holders respectively. They are first
rank holder G. Vinod Kumar Reddy (S.R. Jr. College, Warangal) and second
rank holder M. Dinaker (Narayana Jr. College, Narasimhakonda, Nellore).
Toppers of Model AIEEE, first ranker V. Kameswara Ravi Teja (Narayana Jr.
College, New Nallakunta, Hyd) and second rank holder P. Jaya Ram were
awarded cash prizes of Rs.15,000/- and Rs.10,000/- respectively. All
recipients were also presented with merit certificates.
Toppers of Target IIT-2008 tests were also presented with awards and
certificates. The list of toppers is as follows:
Eighth Class — V. Sai Sowmya and A. Sai Rao (both from Triveni School,
Khammam) bagged the first rank while K. Hemashar (Ratnam Olympaid School,
Nellore) bagged the third rank.
Ninth Class — First rank holder N.S.S. Jagadish (Narayana IIT Olympaid
School, Nellore), second rank holder R.S. Bhardwaj (Narayana IIT Olympaid
School, Hyd) and third rank holder J. Sai Goutham (New Era School, Khammam).
Tenth Class — First rank holder Ch. Pragathi (Ratnam Olympaid School,
Nellore), second rank holder Y. Vamsidhar (Bhasyam Foundation Academy,
Guntur) and third rank holder B.S. Padmaja (St. Francis High School,
Hyderabad).
Cash awards of Rs. 20,000/-, Rs. 15,000/-, Rs. 10,000/- along with
certificates were presented to the 1st Rank, 2nd Rank, 3rd Rank holders
respectively.
Speaking about the Model EAMCET/AIEEE/IIT-2009 tests Mr. Mathews Peter,
CMD - JP Print Systems Pvt. Ltd. said that such tests go a long way in
enhancing and encouraging the ability of the students to confidently
handle competitive exams. Model tests enable the student to know their
weaknesses and plan efficiently to overcome them.
A total of 3,11,334 candidates in engineering stream and 65,482 candidates
appeared for the medical stream in EAMCET 2009. According to the latest
figures from Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), Institute for
Competitiveness, Andhra Pradesh is miles ahead in terms of number of
engineering graduates with 3,30,086 graduates per year.
