Hyderabad|India|November'2009: Everyone has been raving about the
promos of the much awaited film of the season - ‘Tum Mile’ - which is
Bollywood’s first Natural Disaster film. And when the stars of ‘Tum Mile’
landed in the city, it was hysteria never seen before. Emraan Hashmi, Soha
Ali Khan, Mahesh Bhatt and director Kunal Deshmukh visited ‘Havmor 70MM’,
India’s first Bollywood themed Restaurant at Necklace Road, Hyderabad on
7th Nov '09 to promote ‘Tum Mile’ - which hits the cinemas on 13th
November. It was a pleasant surprise for the customers of ‘Havmor 70MM’
restaurant when the ‘Tum Mile’ team went around the place and interacted
with the people there. Customers were seen jostling to have photos and
autographs of the lead stars Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan. Mr. Amar
Ohri, Executive Director of Ohri’s Group took the ‘Tum Mile’ team around
the Bollywood themed restaurant.
Produced by Sony Music & Vishesh Films, Tum Mile which is directed by
Kunal Deshpande of Jannat fame casts Emraan Hashmi & Soha Ali Khan in a
very unconventional pairing on screen. The music of Tum Mile, ruling the
charts and the hearts across the nation, is composed by Pritam.
Speaking about the movie Mahesh Bhatt said, “From the word go, Tum Mile
has been accepted by people with open arms. Be it the phenomenal response
to the music, the fantastic response to the trailer, or the extraordinary
response we are witnessing here in this city right now - everything
clearly indicates that people are waiting eagerly for Tum Mile.”
Emraan Hashmi said, “I believe people have a thirst for entertainment. And
they can make out a good product from a bad one. The vibe, the energy and
the appreciation we are already getting for ‘Tum Mile’ has strengthened
our belief in our product.”
Tum Mile is love story of two estranged lovers who meet after a gap of 6
years in Mumbai on 26th July 2005 - the day when Mumbai drowned because of
rains and floods. The film explores the importance of a second chance in
one’s life - and how far will one go for it.
Soha Ali Khan said, “It is altogether another experience to meet fans one
on one. The phenomenal response here shows that ‘Tum Mile’ has struck a
chord with people. I guess Friday the 13th is going to be lucky for us!”.
Kunal Deshmukh, whose debut film ‘Jannat’ was a musical and theatrical
blockbuster, has treaded very different waters with Tum Mile. He says,
“Tum Mile” is much larger in scale compared to ‘Jannat’. Though the story
has Mumbai as its backdrop, the response here and elsewhere has shown that
it has clicked with people across the nation. After all, the flood is an
incidental villain - the story explores the human psyche of how far will
one go for a second change for something one truly loves. The response
before the film is phenomenal - I just hope and pray it will be even more
after its release.”
