Hyderabad|India|February'2010: Uninor has announced the launch of a
new scheme offering calls between local Uninor subscribers in Andhra
Pradesh for as low as 3.2 paise per minute. The new scheme makes it the
best pack available in the market.
Uninor customers in Andhra Pradesh can avail this ‘Local On Net offer’ on
an electronic recharge of Rs 32 that provides 1000 minutes local Uninor to
Uninor calling. A call to other operator subscribers and STD calling is
charged as per the subscriber’s base plan.
Speaking on the new scheme, Mr. Dushyan Vaithiyanathan, Executive
Vice-President, AP, Uninor said, “At Uninor, constant efforts are made to
bring out plans that provide supreme value, world class and affordable
mobile telephony services to consumers based on their usage patterns. The
new scheme launched today presents cost effective and convenient options
for our users in Andhra Pradesh to speak long with their near and dear
where price will never be a factor. A phone is for conversation and there
is no better place to talk than on Uninor.”
Uninor currently has two services with two price plans – a base plan
called talklonger@29p and a subscription plan called callmore@29p
Talklonger@29p is designed for customers who talk longer on their calls.
The plan offers customers local calls at 29 paise per minute and STD calls
at 49 paise per minute, with a call set up charge of 39 paise for the
first minute. Customers can now make calls at the lowest per minute local
call rates in the market only on talklonger@29.
Callmore@29p is designed for customers who call more often by offering the
lowest per minute local call rates in the market. The plan offers local
calls at 29 paise per minute and STD calls at 49 paise per minute, with a
daily rental of Rs. 2.00.
Uninor is the brand name for Unitech Wireless - the joint venture company
of India’s second largest diversified real estate major Unitech Ltd. and
the Norway based world’s 6th largest mobile services provider Telenor
Group. At present, the Telenor Group has already invested INR 4113.46
crores through new shares in the joint venture company with an agreement
to raise this to INR 6120 crores to hold 67.25% stake.
Unitech Wireless holds a pan-India UAS license to offer mobile telephony
services in each of India ’s 22 circles. It has also received spectrum to
roll out these services in 21 of the 22 circles. At present, Uninor
services are available in the eight circles of UP (West), UP (East), Bihar
, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
