Foundation Day Lecture on Micro Finance at UoH

Hyderabad|India|August'2009: University of Hyderabad, School of
Management Studies celebrating its Decennial Year, organized the
Foundation Day Lecture 2009 delivered by Dr. Vikram Akula, Founder & CEO
of SKS Microfinance. Mr. Peter T Hassan, Advisor (Industries) Government
of Andhra Pradesh and Honorary Consul of The Russian Federation in
Hyderabad was the Guest of Honour.
In his lecture Dr. Vikram Akula said “Micro Loans enable the poor to earn
high returns. There is a huge unmet demand for Microfinance.”
On this occasion Prof. Seyed E Hasnain, Vice Chancellor, University of
Hyderabad laid the Foundation Stone for the Decennial Faculty Block. A
Research, Industrial Consultancy and Entrepreneurship Development Cell
(RICE) was in the School of Management Studies inaugurated by Mr. Mahavir
Prasad Agarwall, Chairman, Ambience Properties Limited.
3 Books (1) Human Resource Management in India, Issues and Initiative by
V. Sita (2) Logistics and Supply Chain Management by Mr. B Raja Shekhar
and Mr. G V R K Acharyulu and (3) Consumer Protection by Mr. B Raja
Shekhar and Ms. P Uma Maheswari Devi were released by Prof. Furqan Qamar,
Advisor (Higher Education), Planning Commission, Government of India and
Mr. King Shuk Nag, Resident Editor, Times of India.
Prof. Venkata Ramana, Dean, School of Management Studies, Prof. V Sita,
Faculty, School of Management Studies, Dr. S Mallikharjuna, Faculty,
School of Management Studies were also present.
