Hyderabad|India|July'2011:

V.S Raju, President, FAPCCI.

Mumbai, Mr. Gowra Srinivas, Chairman, Urban
Infrastructure Committee, FAPCCI, and engineer Mr.
A.R. Murthy also spoke at the seminar.
Mr. VS Raju said in his Chief Guest address is
that the Business expos and tradeshows are one of
the best tools for attracting new leads and
connecting with customers -- if you plan ahead and
know how to present yourself and your company in
the best way possible. The Business Expos and
Exhibition will address the important technical
and logistical issues facing the Indian
government’s ambitious plans to modernize its
infrastructure. The tradeshow floor features
leading international industry companies from
across the entire sector demonstrating state of
the art services and technologies covering every
aspect of urban infrastructure.
Andhra Pradesh has been witnessing a rising urban
population and the growth of urban areas – both in
number as well as geographical area - over last
more than two decades. Urban planning is a
critical challenge in the face of burgeoning
problems of urban growth and population
concentration in cities. Land use control, town
planning and urban development legislations have a
direct impact on urban growth and development. The
legislations dealing with land use planning
control, spatial growth management and urban
development comprise of zoning, land sub-division,
layout and building regulations to provide for and
regulate the use of land and built space. These
are of greatest concern to the urban development
sector as they affect the initiatives of
individuals.
According to research study of The Energy and
Resources Institute (TERI) University, Indian
cities have witnessed highest growth for any urban
cluster in the world, with Delhi and Mumbai
topping the list. The study shows that Delhi has
grown by 4.1%, Mumbai by 3.1% and Kolkata by 2%.
Going by this present pace of growth, Mumbai’s
population is expected to cross 25 million by
2015, whereas Delhi and Kolkata will touch 16
million by then. India’s population rose to 1.21
billion in 2011 in a decade with 35% of them
living in cities, meaning fastest urbanization in
the past five decades. The study also says that
Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Bangalore stand
out as incept mega cities with populations ranging
from five to seven million. The population of
Hyderabad is expected to cross 10 million by 2015,
whereas that of the others will cross eight
million mark.
Mr. Raju said that the Jesubhai Media Private
Limited is organizing world expo on Urban
Infrastructure, on Bombay Exhibition Center,
Goregaon, Mumbai from October 19 to 22. The “Urban
Infra World Expo 2011” presents a great
opportunity for people from the Urban Development
and Planning industries to intermingle and network
amongst each other for a productive business
experience. With bookings and commitments going
full steam ahead, this is one expo all set to
deliver on its promises.
