New Regulations for Applicants Arriving for Visa Appointments at U.S. Consulate General,Hyderabad

Hyderabad|India|June '2011: The U.S. Consulate General has announced a change in the way it will admit visa applicants. Beginning Monday, June 20, the Consulate will insist applicants not to enter the Consulate until 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment.

In recent weeks the Consulate has admitted applicants on a first come, first serve basis. However, this process can cause long queues outside the Consulate and longer wait times for applicants. Furthermore, with the advent of the monsoon season, longer lines will create an even greater hardship.

If an applicant arrives too early, we will ask that individual to leave and return nearer the time of his or her appointment.“These changes will shorten the wait times of many visa applicants coming to the Consulate for interviews and facilitate our registration and security procedures, improving the experience for the applicants,” said Consular Chief Michael Yoder.
