Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naaris Rally in City on 4th April

Hyderabad|India|April'2010:The Chief Minister Shri K. Rosaiah will
be the chief guest in the Ex-Servicemen and War Widows Rally to be
organized by the Artillery Centre, Hyderabad on 4th April. He will also
felicitate the Veer Naaris, battle casualties (disabled soldiers) among
the ex-Servicemen on the occasion. Eminent Civil and Military dignitaries
including Director General Artillery Lt. General K R Rao, Lt. Gen. B K
Chengappa, General Officer Commanding (GOC) Andhra, Tamilnadu, Karnataka
and Kerala Area (ATNK & K Area) and Major General KD Singh, GOC Andhra Sub
Area will also be present on the occasion.
Briefing to the media, in a press meet organized at Artillery Centre, the
Commandant of Artillery Centre Golconda, Brigadier Prakash Nair said that
a large number of Ex-Servicemen from ten districts of Telangana Region
viz., Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medak, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar,
Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda and Mehboobnagar will participate the event.
He said that this offers an opportunity to discuss the post retirement
issues including pension, re-employment and other related grievances of
Ex-Servicemen and provide immediate possible solution to them. He also
said that various stalls of banks and other units’ help desks will provide
necessary information regarding central and state governments’ schemes and
their re-employment and rehabilitation packages during the one day rally.
Director, Sainik Welfare Board (AP), Brig. (Retd) CS Vidyasagar said that
the one day rally will take up several important issues pertaining to
ex-servicemen and appealed them to participate in large number. He said
that transport arrangement will be made from different pick up points in
Hyderabad and also at district headquarters to facilitate them to attend
the event.
Colonel M Mohan Babu, Deputy Commandant, Artillery Centre elaborated about
the rally features and infrastructure. Colonel G Khoshoo, Commanding
Officer, Military Hospital, Golconda said that Medical specialties
including Cardiologist, Orthopedic, General Medicine, General Surgery,
Gynecologist, Endocrinologist and ENT will also be available to offer
medical tests and check up. In addition to that Mammography, Lab services,
X-ray, free medicines will also be available to the ex-servicemen during
the rally. Officer-in-Charge, Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS)
Golconda Lt. Col (Retd) Jayanarayan also highlighted the medical
facilities available on the occasion. Colonel V Udomeeshi (Retd) Director,
Army Welfare Placement Organization and Colonel Sanjay Kochhar, Commanding
Officer, Training Battalion, Artillery Centre were also present on the
occasion.
