Chief
Minister Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy joins the world of blogging
"votecong.com"
website inaugurated

Hyderabad|India|March'2009: Chief Minister
Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy has joined the world of blogging by writing a
blog for a new website launched to promote the Congress cause in this
election. The Chief Minister formally inaugurated the website,
votecong.com, on Sunday, the 12th of March.
In his first post on the blog, titled "Yes, We Will!", Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara
Reddy says he feels charged up as he is about to campaign in the election
because it gives him an opportunity to meet people and renew his
commitment to the people. The post recalls his experiences during the
padayatra of 2003. Dr.Reddy said he was humbled by the generosity of the
people and came away with the resolve to restore pro-farmer policies.
“Only the most wretched leader would come away from such an experience
without wanting to do good for them,” he writes.
In the latest post, the Chief Minister says his chief rival Chandrababu
Naidu’s ‘trinket promises’ will not carry conviction with the people
because the latter “bends to every wind in the pursuit of power”. He
outlines Mr.Naidu’s propensity to renege on his party’s commitments and
argues that these U-turns occur because Nadiu’s promises do not come from
a core of belief but from a flawed understanding of the purpose of
politics.
Claiming to have been an “unflinching and unchanged” welfarist since his
initiation in politics, Dr.Reddy says his policies of free power and
behemoth investments in irrigation projects are all meant to “save money
in the pockets of the poor”. By doing so, they are enabled to send their
children to school and feed their families better. Savings by the poor
encourage small enterprise, which creates millions of jobs.
Defining his vision as against Mr.Naidu’s, Dr.Reddy says in the post that
he knows that his party will win the ensuing elections because the poor
are hard working and therefore would recognize the hard work put in by his
government.
Apart from the Chief Minister’s blog, the site features blogs by actors
Jayasudha, Jeevitha and Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam. In addition, the site
hosts articles and photo displays showing proof of the work done on
development and welfare programmes such as Jalayagnam, Pavala Vaddi,
Arogyasri, Indiramma housing and Indira Kranthi Patham.
During the course of this election season, the site will follow
Rajasekhara Reddy campaign across the State giving daily reports and
analysis, a campaign diary and the best of campaign colour. The site will
also showcase interesting blogs, and updated information on development
work.
