Thanks to a maintenance scheme adopted by the Tourism Ministry, our Golconda Fort is to be adopted by the Welcome Group of Hotels. Several Heritage sites and historical monuments like Konark's Sun Temple,Golconda Fort and Qutub Minar are being adopted by public sector units for their upkeep and maintenance .
The Tourism Ministry has floated a National Cultural Fund (NCF) to involve industrial houses and public sector firms in this process to preserve the heritage sites in different parts of the country.

While the Golconda Fort has been taken up by the Welcome Group the Konark Sun Temple is being taken up by public Sector Nalco while the Oberoi Group of hotels has taken up Qutub Minar for upkeep and maintenance.
Indeed a fantastic move by the Tourism Department of preserve over 3,600 monuments and sites located all over India.
