HUDA to construct  Art gallery, more commercial complexes

                 Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has decided to construct Bapu Art Gallery near Shilparamam from January 2001. Bapu Bommala Koluvu (Bapu Art Gallery), named after the famous artist and film personality. It has been proposed by the Government and the HUDA would spend Rs.1 crore on the Gallery. It will have four blocks, with a plinth area of 1,720 square meters. Bapu's art pieces will be on display on the ground and first floor of Block 'D'. Tenders have been called and the work is expected to begin in January next year, will be completed in nine months. The works of multi-faceted Bapu, a household name in the State for rib-tickling cartoons, directing mythological films including "Sampoorna Ramayanam" in most colourful manner and paintings that carry his marks. The gallery would be constructed within nine months and the project cost would be Rs.1 crore which would be borne by Huda.

                HUDA is coming up with new commercial complexes. A massive Swarna Jayanthi Commercial Complex, comprising of cellar ground and eight floors, is fast coming up adjacent to Maitrivanam at Ameerpet on a 3.20 acre site at an estimated cost of Rs.20 crores. 

               Yet another commercial complex, now behind Maitrivanam, is being taken up on a 1.09 acre site at a cost of Rs 5.18 crores, providing a total built-up area of about 9,817 square meters on ground plus three floors, for 30 offices blocks. It is being named as "Maitrivihar" commercial complex.

               The Third project on the HACA Bhavan-Ritz Hotel road is on the site where an old guest house building, Hermitage was demolished.A corporate office "Hermitage Complex", comprising stilt ground plus four upper floors with a total built-up area of 8,035 square meters, is under construction at a cost of Rs 4.80 crores. There will be 24 office blocks. 

                         Another prestigious project, NTR Gardens spread over 55 acres and costing Rs.70 crores would be completed and would be thrown open for the public from March,2001. The various components of the project such as entrance plaza, consisting of nine-meter high fiber glass gopurams, a fiber glass machan tree , fruit restaurant, car cafe, souvenir shop, road and railway platform, were in different stages of completion.
