Heartland Health, a US hospital directly recruited 40 Nurses from City and
Chennai
Hyderabad: After
software engineers, it is the turn of Indian
Nurses, who are in great demand in USA. If the
current situation is any indication, soon the
Indian Nurses will go places. According to
Globarena, a city based company which collaborated
with Wisconsin based GHCR Inc. for the
recruitment, a three member recruitment team from
Heartland Health, St. Joseph Missouri USA which
for the last couple of days has offered direct
employment to 33 nurses from Hyderabad and Chennai.
The unique thing in this recruitment was whopping
salary packet --US $ 40,000 - 60,000, that too
with host of benefits which include eligibility
for a Green Card status in USA to the immediate
family members of the Nurses. The perquisites
offered to these nurses are on par with the US
born nurses.
Soon sending Indian nurses to US is going to be one of the
major contributions to nursing profession in India as well. According to
Globarena, the opportunity the Nurses getting now is better than what some of
the best software engineers got till now. And the main advantage is they can
migrate to US immediately. Looking at these prospects more and more girls and
women are looking at Nursing, hitherto neglected profession very seriously. Now
there are institutions like Globarena, a city based learning and knowledge
solutions organization has come up with NURSE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (NDP), to
train and groom the girls for the prospective jobs.
Heartland Health, a American Hospital has recently camped in
city for couple of days, conducting interviews for Indian Nurses who are
qualified CGNFS.
About 200 nurses said to have made it to the US by clearing CGNFS already. Faced
by acute shortage, these hospitals said to have been looking at developing
countries for the nurses to counter their shortage in USA. But the demand seem
to be more. The demand is estimated to be around 4 lakh by 2020 by a US Federal
Agency, the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Health Care Organisations.
