Hyderabad, January, 2005: Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) - organisers
of GITEX Hyderabad Computer Shopper – the IT and electronics shopping
extravaganza (12th to 14th January 2005) have joined hands with the Dubai
Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) to give visitors another
reason to visit this event i.e. an all expenses paid trip for two to Dubai.
The promotion titled “Visit GITEX Hyderabad Computer Shopper and
win-a-holiday-to-Dubai” offers one lucky winner a trip for two people to one of
the most attractive holiday destinations in the region. The winner will fly
business class on Emirates, the national carrier of the UAE and will be provided
with 5-star accommodation for three-nights (four days) with a comprehensive
itinerary covering Dubai’s major tourist attractions.
“Awareness of the emirate’s tourism potential is widespread in India,” said DTCM
Director Operations and Marketing, Mohammed Khamis bin Hareb. “Dubai is
increasingly recognised internationally as an attractive destination for
travellers seeking somewhere new and different, yet offering facilities of the
highest international standards. It combines the comfort and convenience of the
Western world with the unique charm and adventure of the Middle East, an exotic
destination with a cosmopolitan lifestyle.”
Mr. Hareb noted that Dubai has a perfect winter climate, top quality hotels and
excellent facilities for a variety of sports and leisure activities. It combines
all these with superb shopping. An important - but often overlooked - attribute
of a holiday destination, Dubai is friendly, safe and virtually crime-free,” he
observed.
Commenting on the reason for deciding on this promotion, Mr. Hareb remarked,
“GITEX Hyderabad attracts a high number IT professionals and Computer Shopper
its retail counterpart gets very high footfall and we hope to create increased
awareness of Dubai’s attractions as a business and leisure destination by
creating synergies with this event.”
The holiday package for the lucky traveller will include a desert safari with a
barbecue under the open skies, a variety of sightseeing trips, a romantic dhow
(traditional wooden boat) cruise dinner and a sumptuous banquet at the tallest
hotel tower in the world, the luxurious Burj Al Arab.
GITEX Hyderabad Computer Shopper is organised by the DWTC in association with
the Information Technology & Communications Department of the Government of
