Top three students to receive travel and tuition
scholarships to Fashion and Design Programmes in Milan & London
The contest is open to the Final Year students of the 22 top fashion technology
institutes
(including National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad) all over india
Hyderabad: To encourage and further advance the great talent
India is showing in producing world-class fashion designers, The Clothing
Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), India’s premier Association of the
apparel Industry has launched a special Design Contest for all students of
Fashion Technology courses or institutes across the country.
The contest called "Festa Italiana Fashion Design Talent Contest" is being held
in association with Instituto Marangoni, one of the most prestigious Fashion and
Design schools of Europe based in Milan, Italy and the Indo Italian Chamber of
Commerce to coincide with the Festa Italiana 2005 being held in November 2005 in
Mumbai.
Under the contest, which aims to provide young Indian Fashion Designers an
opportunity to get a close look at the fashion capitals of the world, the top
three winners will receive complete travel and tuition scholarship to fashion
design Programmes in Italy and Europe that are:
1. Master Programme in Fashion Design (2006-07) in a Milan Campus
2. Summer Programme in Fashion Design (2006) in a Milan Campus
3. Summer Programme in Fashion Design (2006) in a London Campus
The contest is open to the Final Year students of the 22 top fashion technology
institutes(including National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad) or
courses across the country that have been invited to send in their entries by
26th October 2005. The top 10 entries will be invited to make a presentation
along with 2-3 ensembles to the judges comprising renowned international
designers Mr. Ganfranco Ferre, Mrs. Beatrice Trussardi, Mr. Fabio Marangoni and
Mr. Ricardo Agostini of Instituto Marangoni in Mumbai. The 3 winners will
receive their sponsorship awards at a Dinner Seminar of the fashion Industry
being organized by CMAI on November 22, 2005.
CMAI also announces MOU with Korea: As part of its continuous endeavor to grow
the huge apparel industry of India, CMaI has also recently entered into an MOU
with its counterpart in India the Daegu Gyeongbuk Textile industries
Association. The objective of MOU is to enhance the textile and apparel Industry
in both counties through various commercial and political efforts that include
sharing of collective information, organizing meetings, appointments and
bilateral discussions
