‘Campus Rock Idol’ To Perform With An International Rock

Hyderabad: Hero Honda and Pepsi Campus Rock Idols, India’s
largest inter-college rock music competition is all set for the second edition
"Tour of 2005". The annual independent competition "Campus Rock Idols" for
amateur bands at the campus level, in this second consecutive year, offers an
ultimate experience for bands to perform on a professional, technical and
evolved production offering.
Hero Honda and Pepsi, keeping in mind the appeal of music with the youth
continue to communicate their brands through this unique initiative. This year
the competition has been scaled up, with the popular Finnish rock band "The
Rasmus" as an integral part of Campus Rock Idols.
The band members of The Rasmus will be on the jury to judge two regional finals
for the Campus Rock Idols (West Zone and South Zone) and thereafter play two
live performances to rock fans in Mumbai and Bangalore on December 2nd & 4th,
2005 respectively. PRESTORIKA, winners of Campus Rock Idols 2004 will perform
alongside "The Rasmus".
Campus Rock Idols will be held across India in 12 cities over a 2-month period,
commencing from November 12, 2005 and culminating on December 16, 2005 at a
grand finale in Goa.

Entry forms are being distributed to various campuses. The jury comprising of
senior representatives from the music industry will shortlist the winners at the
respective cities.
The regional events will follow in November 2005 in Indore, Hyderabad, Delhi,
Manipal, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Shillong, Kolkata and Pune respectively.
Bangalore, Hyderabad, Manipal form the South Zone for the music fest. In the
West Zone, the regional events will take place in Pune, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
Indore, Delhi and Chandigarh form the three cities in the North Zone. In the
East Zone, the regional events will take place in Kolkata and Shillong.
On completion of the regional events, the regional finals will be held at
Chandigarh, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Pune. The participants will be the first two
winning bands from each of the regional events including the metro events. The
chosen bands will be provided with travel and accommodation for the regional
finals from the various campuses. The regional finals will take place in
November- December 2005.
No other city can be more rocking for the finals than Goa. The grand finale,
will take place in the sunny city of Goa. The winning college band will become
the Hero Honda and Pepsi "CAMPUS ROCK IDOL". "We are trying to ensure that they
have a good time, a recollection which they can carry for the rest of their
lives and a chance to perform with an international rock group," says Venkat

Likewise this year’s winners will get a once-in-a-lifetime debut opportunity to
perform alongside an international iconic artist who is promoted by DNA
Networks. The runners up get cash prizes and other opportunities to showcase
their talent.
