Hyderabad,August'2008: EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute) is a pioneer in Emergency Management Services in India. It is a not - for - profit professional organization founded, funded and nurtured by Mr.B.Ramalinga Raju, founder and Chairman, Satyam Computers and his brothers. Operating in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, EMRI is the only professional Emergency Service Provider in India today.

EMRI handles medical, police and fire emergencies through the " 1-0-8 Emergency service". This is a free service delivered through state- of -art emergency call response centres and has over 785 ambulances across Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttarakhand. With the expansion of fleet and services set to spread across more states, EMRI will have more than 10000 ambulances covering over a billion population by 2010.

With increased focus on research and analytics, EMRI has plans to significantly enhance the overall emergency management scenario - further reducing individual suffering.

1-0-8 Emergency Response Service is 24X7 emergency service for medical, police and fire emergencies. It is a free service for any Emergencies involving people. The service is available 24x7 in the entire state of Andhra Pradesh ,Gujarat and Uttarakhand.

 In Andhra Pradesh ,Gujarat and Uttarakhand, 108 Emergency Response Service have MOU with over 3310 hospitals which provide initial stabilization free of cost for the first 24 hours.

Having launched the 108 emergency response service on August 15, 2005, in Hyderabad, EMRI presently provides an integrated emergency service accross the state of Andhra Pradesh, with 652 ambulances serving over 4500 emergencies per day. EMRI is currently saving over 100 lives per day and has so far saved over 30,000 lives till date.
