Hyderabad|India|December'2009: WalkOn 09, a walkathon, is a step towards realizing a dream - A dream of having 100% Literacy in India. WalkOn-09 is a platform where people from all walks of life are invited to come together for the cause of Education. This also intends to create an opportunity for people to come forward and involve one-self to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children.

Walk On '09 is an initiative of Aashayein Foundation where people to come together on Sunday the 13th Dec morning for the cause of Education.This 13th December, as the sun rises above the horizon, hundreds of Hyderabad denizens from various walks of life would be gathering at Necklace road for a short 5km walk.It’s a walk for the celebration of Education. It’s not just an event that completes on the day of the walkathon but the first step towards 100% literacy.

Aashayein Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) run by a group of youngsters, mostly IT professionals and students.The NGO‘s objective is to empower children from economically weaker sections of society by providing monetary / non-monetary support in the field of education.

Through this Walkathon Aashayein Foundation is providing people a platform to get involved in the noble cause of spreading the importance of education and revisiting our commitment towards a better tomorrow.
