Hyderabad|India|January'2010: TEDxHitechCity has announced the TEDx event in Hyderabad, to be held on 31st January 2010, at the Indian School of Business, Gachibowli. This event is supported by sponsorships by Microsoft India Development Centre, ADP India, MedRC and Progress Software.

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design--the three broad subject areas that are collectively, shaping our future is an annual event where some of the world’s leading thinkers and doers are invited to share what they are most passionate about.

Attendees have called it “the ultimate brain spa” and “a four-day journey into the future.” The diverse audience — CEOs, scientists, creatives, philanthropists — is almost as extraordinary as the speakers, who have included Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Frank Gehry, Paul Simon, Sir Richard Branson, Philippe Starck and Bono.

In the spirit of “ideas worth spreading,” TED has created TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxHitechCity, where x = independently organized TED event. At TEDxHitechCity, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

The one-day event will feature a list of speakers and performers who will spark conversation & inspire action with ideas worth spreading. The theme for the event will be BEYOND BOUNDARIES and immerse the audience in a multi-disciplinary series of talks/performances covering, technology, design, arts, social-work, policy etc.

The event is being co-curated by Ms. M.S. Prasanti amd Mr. Srikanth Krishnan under official license from TED.

The event will be attended by a cross section of public from various walks of life though in keeping with our event name will have a HitecCity bias. There is also a TEDxHitechcity Stars program where attendees can nominate inspiring achievers from Hyderabad who enhance the spirit of TED by participating in the event.
