CYCLE-O-HYDERABAD 2010 a funfilled Cycle Rally held in City

Hyderabad|India|February'2010: Cycle-O-Hyderabad 2010, a 5 kms funfilled cycle rally which was organised  on 21st Feb from Peoples Plaza to Sanjeevaiah Park and back received a overwheloming response.  It was organised by youth NGO Passionate Foundation, Media Junction and Solus Media.  Over 1500 cycle enthusiasts turned up to the cycle rally.  The rally was organsied in four different legs, as there were 300 brand new cycles werer arranged by the organised. 
 
The first leg was flagged off by Tallywood Film Star Raja.  Ms. Karuna Gopal, President Futuristic Citises; Ms. D.Kalpana, Director of Media Junction, Mr. Chaitanya, Founder of Passionate Foundation graced the flag off. 
 
MLA G. Kishan Reddy, Mr. Mark, Counsel Chief of USA Counselate flagged off the second leg.  Many children, women and youth turned up to participate in the rally.  There was a young participant of five years old and 73 years old senior citizen also participated.
After flagging off the rally, Mr. Kishan Reddy and Mr. Marka, Chaitanya drew the cycle for five kilometers.  I ridden bicycle from Hyderabad to Mumbai, when I was in college said Mr. Kishan Reddy,  I also drew it recently in Indore, he replied to an answer.
 
I enjoyed participating in the rally said Prodduturi Sailesh, 12 years old boy of Vidyaranya School.  I participated along with seven of my friends, my father and mother he said.
 
Speaking immediately after the flag off Mr. G. Kishan Reddy said the population in the city is exploding.  Currently it is 70 lakhs and likely to go up to one crore soon. Similarly the number of vehicles  which are currecntly 30 lakhs are going to go up to 40 lakhs soon.  More usage of vehicles means more buring of fossil fuels like Petrol.  And more production of carbon dioxide which adds to global warming.  He appealed people to use more cycles.  To encourage usage of cycles, he said Government must set up special cycle tracks which are in vogue in Delhi  and other western courntries.
 
The Cycle rally aims at inspiring the Citizens of Hyderabad to take up Cycling as a means of transport and save the environmental pollution and degradation said Mr. Chaitanya, Founder Secretary of the Passionate. The Rally was aimed at making people realize all the advantages of Cycling, which include health reasons, Traffic problems, Environmental pollution and sustainable source of energy etc informed Ms. Kalpana, Director of Media Junction. 
 
Representatives of many social, voluntary and cultural organisations such as Lodge Keys, Freemasons, Rotarians, Round Tablers, Jaycees, Concern for Twin Cities  have participated in the rally.  Members of Hyderabad Bicycling Club also took part in the rally. Students of many schools such as Meridian, DPS, Begumpet Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya participated in the rally. 
 
Cycling is a great fun activity said many.  It is a fantastic workout, they said.  Many mothers with great pain brought their younger siblings as they had passion for cycling.  One Kartik of 13 years old came from Medchal.  Mrs. Swapna came from Patancheru to participate in the rally.  The Cycling Rallies must be organsied at regular intervals said Mrs Vanitha Sahgal. 
 
Passionate in the span of two years has orgaized several activities such the first ever Youth Assembly of Hyderabad, Three Medical Camps in the slums of Hyderabad, Participation of the Youth in the Policy making of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Peace Walks, etc. Chaitanya, 18 years old is a student and a young achiever. He recently founded Passionate (NGO) and is a Winner of U.N. Award for Excellence in Community Service at United Nations Youth Assembly - 2007 at New York.  He is a youth to reckon for service activities in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
