– A Premier Annual Mega ICT (Information &
Communications Technology) Products Exhibition/Show organized by Centre
for Science, Development and Media Studies (CSDMS) along with the
Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and IT,
Government of India, in partnership with several Government agencies and
departments. The event will be attended by entrepreneurs, Ministers,
Secretaries of other states and countries.
The 6th edition of eIndia 2010 scheduled from 4th
to 6th August, 2010 at Hyderabad International
Convention Centre, Hyderabad, India.

initiatives of the IT&C Department are:
The initiatives
envisaged are:

Create a secure e-governance infrastructure (CSC, APSWAN,
SDC, SSDG)
2.
Create common procurement platform

Electronic Workflow management

Grievance handing of common man and integrated RTI Call
Center for all departments
1.
AP State Wide
Area Network (APSWAN):
New AP
State wide Area Network (APSWAN) will be implemented to provide
the communications infrastructure for carrying Government data,
voice, and video applications. The New APSWAN will have
connectivity from State Head Quarters (SHQ) to Mandal Head
quarters (MHQ). The connectivity is 8 Mbps from State Head
Quarters to District Head Quarters (DHQ). The connectivity is 2
Mbps from District Head Quarters to Mandal Head quarter (MHQ).
Video conference facility will be extended up to Mandal Level.
The New SWAN is up gradable to suit the Govt. requirements and
being built on PPP model with funding from DIT, GoI under NeGP.
Connectivity is established up to districts. The project will
be operational by August 2010.
2.
State Data
Centre (SDC):
The
Government of Andhra Pradesh in collaboration with Department of
Information Technology (DIT), Ministry of Communications and
Information Technology, Government of India, planned to
establish State Data Centre in an area of 8900 Sq.Ft. with 70
server rack space, 200 TB storage capacity to cater to the needs
of all departments of State Government by providing rack space,
latest serves and data Centre services including application
managements. The Datacentre to be ready by December 2010..

E-procurement:
The project is first of its kind in India,
started in 2003.The number of tenders processed have grown from
1000 to 18000 and value wise from Rs 2500 Cr to Rs 15500 Cr.
4.
EDS (e-Seva)::. Implemented Electronic Queue Management
System to measure the Quality of Service rendered by e-Seva
centers. The following services are added

of Electro Photo Identity Cards (Election cards) for EPIC
approved candidates . As of date 2,73,326 citizens are served.

book new gas connection at e-Seva centers is introduced . As of
date 33,804 citizens availed the facility.
3.
To
Issue Birth and Death certificates through all e-Seva centers in
GHMC area , as of date 30,650 citizens availed the facility. .
4.
To
Book time slot for Learners license & Driving License .
5.
To
issue fresh and renewal of trade license certificates of GHMC
area.
6.
To
collect bills of private telephone operators such as TATA DOCOMO.

collect licensing and renewal fee of Legal Metrology Department.

Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a State that

now one of the most preferred destinations in the Country. A.P.
is at present home for major MNC IT giants and Fortune 500
companies, such as Microsoft, Google, IBM, Oracle, DELL,
Deloitte, Convergys, UBS, UHG, JP Morgan, Bank of America, HSBC,
Wipro, Infosys, HCL, Honeywell, Siemens, Cognizant, Sonata,
Mahendra British Telecom, Patni, Celestica, Unisys, and many
more.
Andhra Pradesh is home for vibrant IT
Industry in India, a delightful destination with warm and
affectionate people efficient human resources and high class
infrastructure, leisure, recreation, education, clean & green
environment, and IT Parks/IT SEZs of international standards. In
fact, out of the total IT SEZs approved in the Country, the
highest number of IT SEZs (57 IT SEZs) are happening in the
State of Andhra Pradesh.
IT Promotion
As a
growth engine, IT sector in A.P. is making steady strides for
rapid socio-economic development of the State. The performance

As of now, the share of IT exports from the
State of Andhra Pradesh occupies 15% of national IT exports.
IT/ITES Industry in AP, contributes to
0.57% share of national GDP (as against the national GDP
share of 3.83%)
IT
sector contributes to about 49% of total exports from all
sectors in the State. AP State ranked 4th position in
IT performance in the Country.

Through the Information & Communications
Technology (ICT) Policy, the State offers best facilitation &
thrust for the growth of Small & Medium Enterprises and sun-rise
areas like Animation, Gaming, Visual Effects, digital
entertainment, in addition to attracting IT majors to set up
their facilities with a special dispensation under Mega Projects
scheme, etc.
Andhra Pradesh has vast potential for the
growth of the IT/ITES industry as large talented urban and rural
human resource pool is available. The State has programs to help
Industry to select talented manpower through IT Knowledge
Partners Program, Rajiv Udyogsri, Rajiv Gandhi University of
Knowledge Technologies, Jawahar Knowledge Centers (JKC) and a
large number of Engineering and Arts colleges.
With Hyderabad as a model, Govt of AP is
promoting other Cities - Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Vijayawada,
Kakinada and Warangal as Tier-II IT Hubs in the State. Special
incentives are offered to locate IT industry in Tier II cities.
As part of the
Conference eIndia 2010 will recognize & felicitate the best
Performing IT companies, segment –wise as a token of
appreciation of their outstanding performance towards achieving
the cause of growth of IT in the State.
The exhibition at eINDIA 2010 will facilitate
synchronization of demand and supply in terms of adoption of
right technology and process, towards enabling e-Governance. To
continue the pace of growth and consistent advancement in ICT
sector, conference cum exhibition like eINDIA 2010 would go a
long way.
