Common Wealth Express Exhibition Train in City from 14th to 16th
August,2010
Hyderabad|India|August'2010: Government of
India, Minister of Sports and Organizing Committee Commonwealth Games is
hosting the XIX Common Wealth Games 2010 from 3rd to 14th October, 2010.
Indian Railways has been playing a major role in the promotion of Sports
since its inception. As a promotional Campaign to spread the spirit of
Games across India, the Ministry of Railways is running “Commonwealth
Express” dedicated to Youth, Sports and Information Technology, an
exhibition train in coordination with the Railway Sports Promotion Board
and Ministry of Communication & Information Technology,. The exhibition
train, on a countrywide journey, in the run-up to the Commonwealth Games
will stop at 48 Railway Stations over a period of 101 days. The Common
Wealth Express Exhibition is reaching Hyderabad on the 13th August 2010
(Night) and it is made available for public viewing of the exhibition from
14th to 16th August 2010 ( 9 AM to 5 PM ) at Platform No.10 – All are
Invited. Each Coach of the Train carries a wealth of Information.
Highlights of Information available in the Common Wealth Express:
Five coaches exhibit sports & Commonwealth Games
Spotlight on India’s sports idols & their achievements
Role of Indian Railways in nurturing & promoting sports
Glorious IT story of India in six coaches.
A Brief introduction about the Game, participating Nations, the mascot –Shera,
Queen’s Baton Relay and its journey for 2010Delhi. It also describes the
very first ‘Green’ Common wealth detail along with the XIX Commonwealth
Games 2010 Delhi logo. It gives you the details of various venues and
games. It also showcases the dummy models of stadia displays sports gears
and showcases sporting events and calendar of events, Indian Sportspersons
including Medalists of Commonwealth Games 2006, Asian Games, Doha,
Olympics Medalist, World Champions.
A Felicitation Function is organized on the 14th August 2010 on Platform
No.10, Secunderabad Railway Station. During the aforesaid function
Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India
along with Ministry of Railway would honour Outstanding IT entrepreneurs
from Tier III Cities in Andhra Pradesh who had taken up Village Rural
eSeva and had shown outstanding performance and services.
