India’s biggest corporate cycling event with a
social edge is back in city
Hyderabad|India|January'2012: The Atlanta Foundation along with
prominent industry forums NASSCOM, ITsAP(The IT and ITES industry
Association of A.P), TiE and AMCHAM(American Chamber of Commerce in India)
and with the support of the Hyderabad Visitors Convention Bureau (HCVB)
brings India’s biggest corporate cycling event, The Republic Ride – 2012
on 26th January, 2012 here in city at Gachibowli stadium in Gachibowli.
With 5000 riders expected it will be India’s biggest corporate cycling
event with a social edge.
As is the tradition for the past 3 years, the ride will happen on January
26 on the occasion of the Republic Day with distance options of 100Kms,
50Kms and 5KMs / 10Kms. The rides which began in 2009 with 189 riders,
today enjoys a participation of close to 2000 riders. These riders are
part of the vast corporate network in the city. Deloitte, CA, GE, Wells
Fargo, Infosys, EA, United Health Group, Factset and many many more are
active participating corporate teams. In fact, encouraged by the growing
numbers, we foresee the highest participation so far of 5000 riders this
time from 50+ corporate houses.
But what truly sets this event apart is that this is a socially-driven
cycling event. The goal is to raise awareness and funds for the education
of under-privileged students, such as -

2. Ashray Akruti, (a school and a support organization for hearing
Atlanta Foundation earlier donated rupees twenty laks for the
Ashray-Akruti, a voluntary organization working for the hearing impaired
and underprivileged children since 1996. It also donated 400 bicycles to
various schools in the city. It also works to promote cycling for better
health and greener environment.
Our rides (including the Freedom Ride on August 15) are borne out of our
passion for cycling and education. Whether you are a concerned citizen or
an avid cyclist, The Republic Ride will provide a unique cycling
experience with a chance to make a positive difference to those who really

clearer skin. Regular bicycling helps with personal weight management.
Regular cycling can lead to lower health care expenses.. The exercise
increase your productivity at work. Bicycling is a great full family and
friends activity. Bicycling in neighborhood is a great way to meet your
