Sri N.Kiran Kumar Reddy,Chief Minister is
seen participating in the “Southern Regional Council
Meeting of CII” at Taj Krishna, Hyderabad
The Chief Minister while speaking as the Chief
Guest at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Regional
Council meet at Taj Krishna here,said the CII rated Andhra Pradesh as the
best performing State in manufacturing sector among the Southern States.
He said Harvard Business School rated AP as the most investment-friendly
State in India. The State has been chosen for the investment driven
economies award in India's most competitive States awards-2012 initiative.
The Chief Minister said the World Bank in its report rated Hyderabad as
the best Metro City in India and Rediff Business rated AP as the 2nd Best
India's hottest IT destination.
Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy said that during the partnership summit MoUs were
signed for massive investments in the State. Out of this, projects with
investment worth Rs.1.33 lakh crs are at different stages of completion or
starting -production. This will generate employment to 1.50 lakh people.
Besides, on the government and Public Sector another 1.25 lakh crs
investment is being pursued.
The Chief Minister said the State Government is identifying various
sectors in the three regions for manufacturing zones for the industrial
development suitable to that area. A meeting with Government of India will
be held soon in this regard.
He said the World Bank has found our poverty alleviation programmes as the
biggest and best in the world.
The Chief Minister wanted industries to be opened not only in urban areas,
but in rural areas too. He asked the industrialists to establish more
units in the rural areas to prevent migration. Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy said
the country now imports Rs.30,000 crs worth edible oil every year. He said
if the Government of India could provide Rs.10,000 crs as grant to the
State Government, we will start palm cultivation in a big way, since we
have a congenial atmosphere for palm cultivation and see that the import
of palm oil is reduced a great extent.
The Chief Minister also spoke of a new land policy which will be announced
soon which will be transparent. He also spoke of the "Mee Seva" programme
launched in the State. He said that 31 services like different
certificates including birth, death and non-encumbrance etc. are now
available at Mee Seva centres. He said the services will be increased to
100 and Mee Seva will be launched all over the State. He said this would
be useful to the investors and industrialists too.
