Assassination bid on Naidu is
attack on people’s solidarity: DPS Students |
Hyderabad,
October, 2003: "In light of today’s
continuous violence, terrorism has become no
different from war. The difference is that the
terrorists strike without prior notice and it is
humanity that suffers".
This apt comparison was made by over four hundred
students of Delhi Public School in a solidarity
note, which they handed over to Mr. N. Chandrababu
Naidu at his residence. They were expressing shock
at the recent assassination bid on Mr. Naidu in
Tirumala.
The tiny toddlers bemoaned that the very people
for whom the Chief Minister (who was striving to
make Andhra Pradesh a terror-free State) had
announced sops once they embraced the mainstream,
should resort to this ghastly step.
Signed by almost every student of the school, the
peace message-cum-solidarity note stated that ‘the
difference between anger and danger is just a
single letter, which has caused you (Mr. Naidu
Sir) so much harm. Today, we are here to express
our concern as we love you and always wish you to
be hale and hearty as we feel secure under your
protective umbrella.’
In a touching tone the students said `we, the
children, as messengers of God’s love, hold your
hands in unison for your speedy recovery and good
health. As future citizens, we will always strive
to live up to your expectations and contribute our
collective might in whatever way we can so that we
can maintain peace and harmony, which are
paramount in today’s violence-ridden society.’
