( Chief Minister,N.Chandra Babu Naidu seen inaugurating a web-site www.karanam-malleshwari.com ,a site dedicated to Ms Karanam Malleshwari. The site was created and developed by City-based ICSA Ltd. ) It was a rousing reception for Karnam malleshwari on her visit to the city after winning the Bronze medal at the Sydney Olympics.The state government declared a holiday for the schools on the eve of her visit to the city.The children lined up the entire route till Raj Bhavan while she was taken in an open jeap to meet the Governor.Malleshwari was accompanied by her husband Tyagi,mother Shyamala,father Manohar,youngest sister Kalyani,brother Kiran Kumar,coach Tarnenko. The entire Hyderabad city was put up with banner greetings for her commendable acheivement at the Olympics. The State government has rewarded her with incentives to the tune of Rs.60 lakh in recognition to her extraordinary feat. After felicitating her at a State-oraganised function in the Lal Bahadur Stadium,Chief Minister, Mr.N.Chandrababu Naidu handed over a cheque of Rs.10 lakh, patta of a house site measuring 532 sq yds at Jubilee Hills worth RS.25 lakh besides announcing a cash incentive of Rs.25 lakh for construction of a house and one acre land to set up a weightlifting training academy which would be named after her. The Godavari Fertilisers and Chemicals Ldt,Nagarjuna Fertilisers and Chemicals,Andhra Paper Mills and State Road Transport Corporation and the Global Trust Bank have announced their support for the Academy. -October''00
