Annual Day Held

Meridian School for Boys & Girls celebrated its 6th Annual Day Celebration here in a glittering colourful cultural extravaganza held at Satya Sai Nigamagamam.
Mr.E.Peddi Reddy, Honorable Minister for Tourism was the Chief Guest.
All the cultural sequence were originally composed /choreographed at school involving young talent to out number one another. Every cultural programme/dance/drama/skit was designed to convey a message, to give fillip to traditional arts and explore young talent. Special emphasis was given to Indian traditional arts. One such example was Burrakatha, were the participants delivered long phases and narrations confidently without mincing words and fumbling.
The highlights of the evening were The Space Atlantic. The aliens descending down on earth to bring messages-'Let Peace
Prevail', Happiness & Harmony', 'Universal Love & Brotherhood', and 'Inter Planetary Interaction presented by Class IV Students. Other interesting sequences were Zero is Hero- the concept of Zero being a very important number presented by class I students; The dance competition between Lord Shiva and Parvati, witnessed by various sages and gods was presented by students from class IV to VIII. The spookier the better -The Halloween Night was a spine chilling item with ghosts and witches. The sequences had spellbound effect on the audience and received thunderous applause occasionally by over 800 students, parents and staff.
The three hour long cultural extravaganza was marked with Nursery items-To go to see the Senorita, where the youngest of the school children dressed in various costumes and danced.
The program consisted of various items--skits, western and traditional Indian dances. The classical
dance items produced and choreographed at the school was praise worthy. The other attractions were the Spanish Dance, a Lamp Dance from Kerala, a
message of Universal brotherhood in dance form by aliens which also had an impressive landing of an Unidentified flying object on the stage, The Arabian Dance by class III
students; Hakuna Matata by PP tiny tots --a jungle sequence where all the animals
respected their king and lived in harmony; Kung Fu-- a karate show by PP II students; worlds Greatest circus by PP-II B kids.
Speaking on the occasion Mr.Peddi Reddy observed that Meridian School blossomed over the years. He expressed happiness that the institution was sensitive towards the wholesome growth of the child .He urged the teaching community to strive hard for the standard of the education. He stressed upon the need of education for all .
Mrs. Usha Reddy, principal in her annual report informed that the school was a beautiful synthesis of old world values and a futuristic approach. It is an amalgamation of Indian traditional and contemporary views. She informed that the aim of the school was to produce individuals with strong values who are concerned by the problems in our society.
Adding further Mrs.Reddy informed that the school had introduced filing system form the
beginning of the academic year. The weight of the school bag, she observed had been a major area of concern, as the child stoops because of
weight of the bag, which at later stage could lead to spondylitis and slip discs. The school was done away with note books and
introduced filing system, which meant carrying of a file with five sheets of paper, which would be filled in the class at the end of the month starts with a fresh booklet. This had worked to the advantage of one and all thanks to the cooperative of parents, she informed.
