Naidu completes 5 years in office
This month The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr.N.Chandrababu Naidu,
completes five years in office after being in the helm of affairs of the state during which Andhra Pradesh has been on
a transformation spree.
The ongoing three month old agitation against the hike in power tariff has been the most
challenging, political event since Mr.Naidu returned to power in the last general elections.Unlike other reforms which won him
accolades, the restructuring of the electricity distribution network in the state has raised
hackles, particularly since the oppposition alleges it has been done at the behest of the World
Bank. Even the pro-reform constituency is upset. The AP Chamber of Commerce and
Industry, or one, joined the opposition chorus against the hike.
Mr.Naidu is ignoring the event marking the completion of five years as Chief
Minister, as he did in the past.
He is among the four Chief Ministers,(the others being Neelam Sanjiva
Reddy, Brahmananda Reddy and NTR) who served for five years and more out of the 13 Chief Ministers, the state had since its formation in 1956.
