Hyderabad-based Pragati Offset Pvt. Ltd., India's leading printer, has earned
the distinction of being honoured as world's number one printer for the second
time when the company was conferred the prestigious "SAPPI International Printer
of the Year 2008" award.
It was in 2006 that Pragati created history by
being the first printing company from
India as well as from the entire Asian,
Australian and South/Central
American region to ever win this award,
which had so far gone only to printers from North
America, Europe and
South Africa.
At a function held recently in
Cape Town, South
Africa, Mr.
Narendra Paruchuri, CEO of Pragati Offset received the
award for Pragati's own
2008 calendar.
The calendar was printed on SAPPI Magno paper, with multiple
3-dimensional embossing, foiling with overprinting, gloss,
textured and glitter UV varnishes and new technologies such as
holographic
UV coatings.
The jury's comments in judging the calendar were "A great
balance between print techniques and design. Excellent use of
colour, Perfect even on overlays. A perfect example of what a
Printer's own Promotion piece should be."
