Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was described as the "Abhinava
Bhagiratha" by the Industry leaders. At the FAPCCI annual awards
function, President of the Federation Mr Suraj Prasad Agarwal
described the Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as the "Abhinava
Bhagiratha" for initiating massive irrigation projects and
developing vast infrastructural facilities in the State. Mr
Agarwal said the Chief Minister is an embodiment of Swami
Vivekananda's exhortation "stop not, stop not.........till the
goal is achieved" . With single-minded determination, courage
and missionary zeal the Chief Minister pursued his mission of "Haritha
Andhra Pradesh', the FAPCCI President said.
Mr Agarwal also had a word of praise for the ever-smiling Chief
Minister. "Aap yuhi hasthe rahe, Muskurathe rahe, Pyar ke moti
yuhi luthathe rahe, ab andhra me kabi na hoga andhera". Earlier
in his welcome address, Mr Sudhir Sanghi said "mera bharat
mahaan, usi me Andhra Pradesh ki shaan and Rajasekhara Reddy ki
jaan". Both the industry leaders hailed the Chief Minister for
making Andhra Pradesh a leading destination of the investors.
The Chief Minister in his address said the State Government is
taking all steps to fight out the global recession and requested
the industry leaders to help the State Government in this
regard. He also mentioned that the State Government is planning
to increase the spending on infrastructure projects so as to
create demand for steel and cement and jobs for workers in the
construction sector. Therefore the State Government brought a
bill to amend the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM)
to enable the State Government to borrow about Rs.6,000-00
crores for spending on capital and infrastructure projects like
irrigation etc. thus creating the much needed thrust to the
slowing economy.
The Chief Minister hoped that Andhra Pradesh will continue to be
the most favoured destination of investors and sought the
cooperation of all the industry leaders in this regard. He
congratulated the FAPCCI and particularly the award winning
industries and industrialists. Later the Chief Minister
presented the awards.
