Vijay Mohanraj takes charge as Chairman of TAAI-AP Chapter
Hyderabad/India: Travel Agents
Association of India (TAAI) has appointed Mr. Vijay Mohanraj as the
Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Chapter. Armed with this
responsibility, Vijay will be the bridge between local and national
bodies of travel agents.
Established in 1951, with a dozen agencies coming together from
across the country, TAAI is today India ’s largest travel
association aimed at delivering the best services with the interest
of consumer as key objective. It’s superlative role being to safe
guard the interest of customers and airlines. In recent times the
association has also been able to garner support of bodies like DGCA,
Thomas Cook and Cox & Kings in the fight against zero commission
with Airlines. TAAI has been actively pursuing this agenda with the
understanding that charging the customer a transaction fee is not a
custom in practice ever since the agents-airline set up took place
and also because it is against the consumer rights.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Vijaya Mohanraj said, “As a
travel agents association, TAAI is responsible to protect the
interest of the consumer and those engaged in the industry. Keeping
this as a benchmark, it is a challenging responsibility to represent
AP at the national level.”
Vijay Mohanraj, 52, is the Director of ‘Sameera Travels’ which came
into existence in 1988. Armed with a Post Graduate degree in
Marketing Management from Bombay University, Vijay started his
professional career in 1975 at Associated Cement Companies and then
moved on to Nirlon Aesthetics. |
