UoH Professor Awarded Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award

Hyderabad|India|October'2009: Prof. V. Suresh, Department of Mathematics, University of Hyderabad has been awarded the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for the year 2009.

In all 11 Scientists are selected and these awards were announced at the 67th Foundation Day Celebrations of CSIR in New Delhi.

Prof. Suresh has done his Ph.D from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai. He is also a Fellow of Academy of Sciences. He is a recipient of INSA Young Scientist Award, Andhra Pradesh Scientist Award (2008) and BM Birla Science Prize.

The Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar(SSB) Prizes are given to scientists below 45 years of age, for their outstanding scientific contributions made primarily in India during the last 5 years preceding the year of the Prize. The SSB Prize comprises a citation, a plaque and a cash award of Rs.5,00,000/- and are given to the recipients by the Prime Minister of India.
