Hyderabad|India|April'2010:  Dr.Ramachandran Kavil, a renowned business professor specializing in resource building and competitive strategies of new firms and family businesses at the Indian School of Business is part of the six-member Indian delegation attending the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship in Washington, D.C., April 26-27, 2010.

The Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship is an example of the broader engagement with Muslim communities around the world that U.S. President Barack Obama spoke of in his June 2009 “A New Beginning” speech in Cairo.

The Summit will highlight the importance of entrepreneurship, job creation and community development. It will bring together 250 entrepreneurs from more than 50 countries; identify ways to advance economic and social entrepreneurship; build networks among stakeholders in entrepreneurship; and provide an opportunity to establish partnerships that advance entrepreneurship. The Summit emphasizes the President’s broader aims of supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic opportunity at home and abroad.

In addition to participation by President Obama and senior officials, the Summit will consist of several moderated plenary sessions on key issues and challenges for advancing entrepreneurship, including: technology and innovation, access to capital, unleashing women and youth entrepreneurship, mentoring and networking, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, promoting and enabling business, and social entrepreneurship.

Delegates attending the summit were invited for their community leadership and innovative methods of tackling major issues facing India and the world community today.

“It is an honor to be invited to such an important event that will propagate the message of strengthening peace and prosperity through entrepreneurship in developing countries. The Summit will give people like me an excellent opportunity to share our thoughts and formulate strategies to build an entrepreneurial society,” Dr. Ramachandran Kavil said.
