MCH to develop New rock garden, herbal park

 


A herbal park at Jubliee Hills and a heritage -cum-rock park near Yousufguda. Police Lines are among the ten new parks proposed to be developed by the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad(MCH).
The MCH plans to spend Rs 4 crore on developments on parks and Rs 6 crore on tree plantation .
More than 2,000 medicinal and aromatic plants of 40 different species would be planted in the herbal park which would come up on 14 acres at Road No. 10 Jubliee Hills.
THe heritage park-cum rock garden at Yousufguda will be developed on 15 acres. The existing rock formations will be preserved and protected in their original shape besides taking up massive tree plantation programme shortly. An amount of Rs 30 lakh would be spent on constructions of tree tanks 
to take up rain water harvesting and water management techniques like rocked-filled dams, contour trenches contour bunds. Barbed wire fencing or a compound wall will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore to protect the land from encroachments.
