New System for
Passport Issuance

Endless waits outside the passport office and hours of pointless questioning at the hands of district
superintendent of Police to procure that elusive document may soon come to and end.
To make life easier for passport applicants, the Ranga Reddy district police introduced a passport information system. The computer package will enable any applicant to find out about the status of his application within one minute. This will keep them posted on whether police inquiry into
application has been completed .
The new system will also save time for the Special Branch personnel. Besides, chances for redtapism would be
reduced. Prior to the introduction of the computer package, the manual system was streamlined to reduce the
pending period of the police inquiry into passport application.
