 New boating unit opened at Sanjeeviah Park


The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) has launched a new boating unit at Sanjeeviah Park. The point was inaugurated by C.Anjaneya Reddy, chairman and Managing Director of APTDC.
The Special attraction at the Sanjeeviah Park would be a police band which will entertain the visitors on Saturdays, Sundays and on other holidays. As part of the development, the corporation proposes to acquire a twin deck criuser(175 seater) which is expected to be ready by June next year. It will have a restaurant in the lower deck and a cultural deck and seating arrangement on the top.

Two steering deluxe boats with a seating strength of 18 persons, two speedboats (four each) four pedal-boats(4 persons) and a scooter boat would be available from Sanjeeviah point.
The boat form Sanjeeviah park would go up to the Buddha statue and halt there for about five minutes to enable passengers to take a closer view of the statue.

Presently , the corporation has eight speed boats, four steering boats, three (Mechanized boats), two water scooters, eight pedal boats and two rowing boats. Another new feature is a five or ten minute halt at Buddha Statue amidst the lake where musical fountains, park and playing of a cassette on Buddha's teachings would form part of the attractions.


One more boating point would be added very shortly near the Youth Hostel next to the Secunderabad Sailing Club.


The tickets for ride would be Rs.120 per trip for two persons while for the mechanized steering boats the rate would be Rs.20 per adult and Rs.15 per child. New boats will ply from 10 am to 6 pm.
