Transport Dept goes Hi-tech

FAST, the fully automated services of the Transport Department has just been inaugurated by the Chief Minister Mr.Chandra Babu Naidu. This is yet another step towards electronic governance.

FAST, an online computerization project is aimed at delivering 36 services to the citizens. It would help RTA (Road Transport Authority) staff access the database of the department and make the validation process secure with the help of tamper-proof documents.

Easy access to the database would facilitate identification of tax defaulters and keep
a record of reckless drivers.

The 36 services covered under FAST included issue of driving licenses,registration certificates of personalized vehicles like two-wheelers and cars in a card form with a unique hologram and numbering system.

The Transport Dept has got its own web-site, http://www.aptransport.org which has got the forms for issue of driving licenses and other services.
