Design (NIFD) centre opens in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, June' 03: National Institute of Fashion Design (NIFD), one of
India’s premier most fashion and design institutes with over 160
branches within India and abroad comes to Hyderabad. The A.P’s first
centre was inaugurated here at Himayatnagar this evening by beauty queen
Ms. Parmita Katkar, Femina Miss India Asia Pacific 2003.
The NIFD Centre at Hyderabad will provide quality education in the field
of Fashion Design, Textile Design and Interior Design with Computers as
an integral part of the Curriculum. It will offer Two Year Advance
Diploma and One Year Diploma Courses in Fashion Design, Interior Design
and Textile Design to the students in morning and afternoon shifts. It
also offers One Year Diploma Course in Apparel Manufacturing, Marketing
and Merchandising, Knitwear Design and Technology, Garment Manufacturing
Technology.
Speaking at the press conference Ms. Parmita Katkar said, "I am happy to
know that NIFD is providing quality education in the field of Fashion &
Design. As fashion has spread all over the country and opportunities
available in the field are many. By training youngsters in this field
provides NIFD various opportunities for their advancement.
Mr. Sanjay Saraswat, Mr. K. Sreekanth both Centre Heads of NIFD
Hyderabad said "NIFD is an organized revolution to provide education to
the people at their doorstep. It firmly believes nurturing local
designers enables to exploit the traditional local heritage". Our aim is
to bring local talent to the national forefront.
NIFD is a trend setting institute known as "The Cradle of Designers"
among the glamour world. It is for those who dream of joining the
fascinating fashionable world, and for those who wish to become
fashionable themselves. One will learn the basics of fashion and train
to develop his/her own spirit of a designer, with a view of the world
and the designer collection. Fashion design course prepares students for
careers in merchandising fashion, coordination, client servicing,marketing and many more fields. NIFD promises to make its students real
professionals having an integrated personality. Besides, students will
learn how to make themselves known and to make a living. It was born to
fulfil the twin objectives of promoting fashion awareness and meet the
growing need in the industry for trained professionals. NIFD was
inaugurated by one of India’s leading fashion designer Ritu Beri. Since
then NIFD has become the harbinger of a design revolution. Beside India,
it has centres in countries like Bangladesh, Canada, Nepal and Dubai.
The centre at Hyderabad is located at Himayatnagar in 3000sft campus.
The faculty is drawn from the best of the institutes in India. One of
the centre heads Mr. Sanjay Saraswat is already a Master Franchisee for
the couple of years in Rajasthan. He has two centres of his own at Ajmer
and Sri Ganganagar. He has five sub-franchisees at Jaipur, Udaipur,
Jodhpur, Kota and Alwar, all in Rajasthan. The various courses at
Hyderabad will commence immediately. The annual fee for each course if
Rs 24,000/-. Entry is restricted to only 90 students, ten in each batch
and discipline.
NIFD Hyderabad center is located at Sai Krishna Leela Mansion, Street
No. 1, Himayatnagar, Hyderabad.
