‘Business Views’, A.P’s First Journal of Management |
Hyderabad, June'04: Sister
Nivedita Foundation of Sister Nivedita College of Professional Studies, a
decade old premier management institute to release "Business Views",
state’s first quarterly journal of management.
Disclosing this at a press conference, Dr. V. Kondal Rao, Chairman of
Sister Nivedita Foundation informed that the journal will be released at
the 8th Convocation of Sister Nivedita College of Professional Studies to
be held at FAPCCI on 28th June by Mr. Sudhakar Reddy Banala Kasi, Vice
President Corporate Services of Satyam Computer Services Ltd. graced by
the Hon’ble Speaker of A.P. Legislative Assembly Sri K. R. Suresh Reddy,
Prof. K. Jayashankar - Former VC, Kakatiya University and Prof. C. Subba
Rao - Chairman, AP State Council of Higher Education, many other
dignitaries and the media attending the function.
Informing further, he added that the state of Andhra Pradesh has as many
as 209 recognised Management Colleges including Open Universities, which
turnout about 12,000 M.B.As every year. Besides these, several branches
foreign universities and other training institutions churn out another 12,
000 to 15,000 Management Graduates, Post Graduates, Diploma and
Certificate holders. But there is not a single journal except some
in-house journals on business management originating from Hyderabad to
meet their scholastic and higher exposure needs. Hence, Sister Nivedita
Foundation is launching "Business Views" to bridge this gap, mainly aiming
at MBA colleges dedicated for management and training institutes.
The journal intends to provide an opportunity for students, trainees and
management Professionals to have first hand information on what is
happening in Andhra Pradesh in general and Hyderabad in particular in the
fields of Economy, Education and Employment. It will highlight the events
which are happening in the state, on emerging employment prospects,
findings of project studies made by students and others. It will bring out
the abstracts of important seminar discussions made and in general
enumerate the trends, directions and projections in the fields of business
and industry. It will have a general section, AP section and also a
section for students of management.
Management education is the most sought after discipline by many students
now. But right type of management education can only be had when the
students not only have class room instruction but also a wide ranging
exposure through current literature, through case studies, success stories
of achievers, analytical studies and reviews etc. made in the journals.
Business Views would be very much helpful to build up the competitive
strengths of students by highlighting on many current and contemporary
problems and issues confronted by the concerns.
The journal aims at providing an opportunity to all those who are
interested in ventilating their ideas on economy, management and business
to enable the practitioners and policy makers to take appropriate
decisions on time. The journal intends to create an avenue for a
meaningful interaction between Students, Academicians, Management
Practitioners and Policy Makers. The journal is ably assisted by the
eminent men on its editorial board and also by experienced educationalists
like Dr. V. Kondal Rao, who will be its Chief Editor, by Dr. R.
Pushpavathi, who will be its Editor. It has Sri Krishna Sagar Rao, CEO of
Matrix Life Systems, a young and dynamic consultant and corporate trainer
and corporate strategist of international standing as its Advisor.
The journal mainly aims at institutional and individual subscribers. To
start with it is publishing about 5,000 copies aiming to reach the
ultimate target of about 25,000 to 30,000 copies in couple of months to be
able to meet the needs of not only its subscribers but also to make it
available in the stalls for all others interested in it. The journal is
modestly priced at Rs.25/- per copy to make it affordable to students. In
order to price it so low, it goes without saying that is has to fall back
on advertisements for which it needs the patronage of business houses and
industries.
