Surabhi is a nomadic community dedicated to Theatre, for whom life is an extension of stage. They have been encapturing rural audience with mythological plays, garnished with Stage Effects. This documentary explores the identity of one family which tried to modernize drama under B.V. Karanth's influence. Thier patriarchal leader, Nageshwar Rao becomes Sutradar, a la Sanskrit Theatre tradition, while Garimella Sri Rama Murthy, protector of Surabhi tradition, hints about their difficulties, as the documentary captures their life-style. | |
