Tourism plans for Hyderabad 

Hold your breath, very soon apna Hyderabad is going to be on a transformation spree if one were to believe the Government's agenda for the twin cities. Well, they are aiming for the sky but maybe if we could at least reach till the tree-top, then we swear Hyderabad will be the happening place in India.
So look ahead with your eyes wide open and mouth shut for the things that are going to roll out in Hyderabad. Well here are the plans.....

India's largest IMax opens in City
 The Imax theatre will feature the world's most powerful film projector which beams on 29 Metres wide and 21.93 metre high screen. Its got a six-channel sound system that puts out 12,000 watts of digital surround sound

Millennium Park Coming Up On Musi River:

The state government proposes to develop the entire Musi river belt between Bapu Ghat and Himayatsagar into a Millennium park. The park , which is part of the third stage of the Nandanavanam project, envisages creation of landscapes, check dams, boating facilities, rock trails, cycle tracks and "river walks".  

Convention and performance center at sanjeevaiah park

Creation of the world clubs convention center at the sanjeevaiah park akin to the sidney's Opera House or the Hong Kong's convention center.

Laser and Light Links

A series of laser light towers are proposed around the Hussein Sagar Lake, linking all the key developments and buildings to create a 'Necklace of Pearls'. The towers will cast beams of colorful lasers from one location to another.

Floating restaurant & Pier near Lumbini Park

A Floating platform restaurant with two decks, one indoor climate controlled and the other roof top open air. The restaurant will be cheerfully illuminate the evening and will be one of the links for laser lights proposal.

Waterfront Retail Plaza

Waterfront retail plaza and high and boutique, stores and other retail outlets including restaurants set along side a waterfront promenade, with an attractive inner paved courtyard with fountains and outdoor art. The place will be one of activity and excitement throughout the day and night when it will be illumined.

Night Bazaar at Charminar

The Charminar area has a special character at night, when the ethnic shops and markets such as Lad Bazaar comes to life, the area is not crowded, it is cooler and the Charminar itself is illuminated. A night market housed in temporary tented structures is proposed so as to become a primary attraction for tourists in the evenings. This will be similar to the ethnic crafts markets in cities such as Bangkok (Pat Pong area) etc.

Pedestrianisation

 There is going to be a One-Way-Traffic system that goes  around the Charminar Arch ,while converting the immediate Charminar area into a grand, well paved ,landscaped pedestrian promenade and the pizza along the lines of the Place de la Concorde or the Arc de Triumphed in Paris ,demonstrating a great séance  of arrival ,drama and History. The Charminar will itself be illuminated.

Visitor Information Center at Charminar Police Station

 
The proposed Visitors information center will provide visitors with information ,maps and broachers to the various attractions in the Charminar area. The Charminar Police Station Building is ideally located for housing a visitors information center . This building with its unique architecture will receive much required restoration and will be preserved for the future.

Museum of Islamic Art at Badshashi Ashurkhana   

India so far has no museum of Islamic art and culture and in-fact , the world has few. Hyderabad with its strong Islamic tradition, is an obvious location for such a museum. The Museum can be a powerful symbol of minorities and can serve as a basis for collaboration with countries of West Asia. The Badshahi Ashurkhana compound ,which has a vacant building is being planned as a location for this museum.

Golf Course at Golconda Fort or Naya Quila

 
Professionally designed international standard golf course with Club House to be located on approximately 140 acres either at Naya Quila, Bala Hisar Area or any other alternate location.

Chowki Restaurant at Shamsher Kortha

 
Restaurant open only in the evening, featuring traditional Hyderabadi cuisine will serve in "Chowki" ( Squatting style ). The Restaurant will be located in a building with an open courtyard that was one time the royal armory.

Heritage Interpretation-centre-cum-Restaurent at APTTDC site-Golconda 

On a 900 sq Yard site near the main entry gates at the Golconda Fort. The Heritage Interpretation Center will serve to inform and educate the visitors about various tourist attractions and Historical places in the greater Golconda region. The Heritage and Interpretation building will comprise of an exhibit hall, an auditorium , a tourist information desk and a gift shop. On the top floor will be a restaurant overlooking the Golconda ruins.

Heritage Hotel at Shaikpet Saral 

A Unique Boutique style heritage hotel with approximately 30 rooms to be located within the Shaikpet Saral, an old caravanserai located at shaikpet village adjacent to Golconda Fort.

Night Safari at Madhapur 

Another attraction that is going to come up at Madhapur, about 14kms from Hyderabad is the night safari on the lines of the worlds popular night Safari in the Singapore Zoological gardens. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation , a state govt enterprise , is promoting the night safari project, which is a house of animals and birds in a large area to attract tourists. In this proposed project ,eight geographic zones representing three continents of Africa, Asia and South America will be created. The entire area of the project is to be developed with the ambience of a 'jungle' to suite the living conditions for the animals. Some of the features of the artificial jungle are : regular animals and bird shows, tram-riding and walking-trails. The trails are interconnected by walkways.

Indian State food court at old MCH office,Darush Shifa

 
A complex comprising of approximately ten food outlets featuring the unique of different states and regions of India. This will comprise of dispensing counters with kitchens behind, arranged around a large common seating are a in the center .The building located on the ground level with a central courtyard , adjacent to the Musi river and close to the Salarjung Museum , is ideal for this project.

Theme park at Himayat Sagar

Amusement park to be located on 60 acres. Other Initiatives: These include Family Entertainment center at APTTDC Site, Sardar Patel Marg, Resort at Sagar Mahal Guest House, Osman Sagar, Restaurant at Vishranth Guest House, Night safari park at Nehru Zoo. Hyderabad Botanical gardens at Chiran Palace, Heritage Hotel at Eram Manzil, International sports village at Miapur. International Corporate Park at Madhapur are among others.
